Calling all SEN specialist qualified Teachers!
Protocol Education is working with a SEN school based in Maidenhead who wishes to appoint a SEN specialist Teacher from January.
The School works with a wide range of exceptional professionals offering outstanding education and therapy to students aged 2 to 19, all of whom, due to their complex special educational needs, require specialist provision to succeed academically and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver differentiated and engaging lessons that meet the individual learning needs and abilities of students with special educational needs, and promote their academic, social, and emotional development.
* Use a variety of teaching strategies, resources, and technologies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities, and create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
* Collaborate with colleagues, including teaching assistants, therapists, and support staff, to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and support strategies, monitoring and tracking student progress.
* Assess students' learning needs and progress through ongoing observation, formative assessment, and standardized testing, using this data to inform teaching and provide targeted support.
* Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and external professionals, providing regular updates on students' progress and any concerns.
* Keep accurate and up-to-date records of students' progress, attendance, and behavior, completing all administrative tasks in a timely and professional manner.
* Engage in continuous professional development and training to enhance skills and knowledge in special needs education.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognized teaching qualification.
* Specialization or relevant experience in special needs education, with a strong understanding of various special educational needs.
* Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and work collaboratively.
* Patience, empathy, and a compassionate nature to respond sensitively to individual student needs.
* Commitment to promoting inclusion, diversity, and equality in education.
