Protea Recruitment is recruiting for a niche food processing facility committed to delivering high-quality products in a safe and efficient environment. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Manager to oversee our high-care facility and lead a small, focused team.
Job Summary:
The Production Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our high-care production facility, ensuring adherence to strict hygiene and quality standards. This role involves managing a team of four, optimizing production processes, and maintaining a safe and compliant working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Management:
1. Plan, organize, and supervise daily production activities to meet production targets and deadlines.
2. Ensure efficient utilization of resources, including materials, equipment, and personnel.
3. Monitor production output and identify areas for improvement in efficiency and quality.
4. Implement and maintain accurate production records and reports.
High Care Standards:
1. Maintain strict adherence to high-care hygiene and sanitation protocols.
2. Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety and quality regulations (e.g., HACCP, BRC).
3. Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify compliance.
4. Implement and maintain all relevant documentation for high care standards.
5. Lead, motivate, and develop a team of 4 production operatives.
6. Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
7. Train and onboard new team members.
8. Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
9. Manage team rotas to ensure adequate coverage.
Quality Control:
1. Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure product consistency and safety.
2. Investigate and resolve quality issues promptly.
3. Ensure all products meet the required specifications.
Health and Safety:
1. Ensure a safe working environment for all staff, adhering to health and safety regulations.
2. Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
3. Implement and enforce safety procedures and protocols.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Proven experience in a production management role, preferably within a high-care environment.
2. Strong understanding of high-care hygiene and sanitation standards.
3. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
4. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Knowledge of food safety and quality regulations (e.g., HACCP, BRC).
7. Experience with record keeping and reporting.
8. Ability to work within the specific hours of 07:00 - 15:00 Monday to Friday.
9. Due to location, a driver/Bike license and transport are essential for this position.
