Platform Resourcing are currently working with a leading manufacturing company who are looking to expand their team by taking on an Assistant Team Leader in Cardiff.
Shift patterns available to choose from:
1. Shift 1:
*223 shift pattern 2 x weeks of Days 6am - 6pm and 2 x weeks of Nights 6pm - 6am
*Shift allowance 21% across all shifts
*Salary: Hourly rate for both shifts £17.77 - Annual salary: £36,996
2. Shift 2:
*Monday to Friday shifts Week 1: 6am - 2pm, Week 2: 2pm to 10pm, Week 3: 10pm - 6am
*Shift allowance is 10% for afternoon shifts, and 30% for nights.
*Salary - Basic hourly rate £14.70, Afternoons £16.17, Nights £19.11
*Annual Salary up to £34,000
3. Shift 3:
*Monday to Friday shifts Week 1: 6am - 2pm, Week 2: 2pm to 10pm
*Salary - Hourly rate for both shifts £14.70
*Annual salary £30,576

Assistant Team Leader Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Ensure that all manufacturing quality is of the expected high standard, and the RDD's are met, and all quality paperwork is adhered to.
2. Continuously drive the team to maximise output
3. Working with the TL, instil cultural change to embrace ongoing improvements and efficiencies.
4. Minimise labour costs when possible whilst achieving manufacturing needs
5. Work in conjunction with the TL to organise correct utilisation of manning within the business as a whole
6. Ensure operator training is carried when needed and sign off completed on time.
7. Continuously look to reduce the scrap levels
8. Generate and implement initiatives that drive improvements
9. Ensure housekeeping is maintained and work areas are clean and free of debris
10. Working with the TL to ensure that the RAMS are explained and signed off by respective persons as required
11. Working with the TL to ensure all data reports and KPI's are completed to drive efficiencies.
12. Conduct consumable stocks checks and make sure they are maintained
13. Work closely with the TL to manage employees in relation to HR related activities i.e. holidays / absence / lateness
14. To develop with the TL to conduct investigations and disciplinaries as and when required
15. To be able to step into the TL position as cover when called upon.
16. Any other reasonable tasks assigned by your manager / supervisor
Assistant Team Leader Essential Experience/Qualifications:
1. Experience within a manufacturing or engineering Senior or Supervisory role
2. FLT licence preferable but not essential
3. Competent numeracy and literacy skills - IT Literate to update systems
4. Previous investigations leadership skills advantageous
5. SAP knowledge would be desirable or other ERP/ MRP system
6. Manufacturing knowledge and experience
7. A positive attitude towards continuous improvement
