Job Opportunity: Estimator / Senior Estimator
Location: Midlands
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum + package
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Estimator or Senior Estimator to join a dynamic Multi-Utilities department. This role involves creating accurate and competitive cost estimates for multi-utility infrastructure projects, including water, gas, electricity, and telecoms. The successful candidate will play a vital role in tendering processes, collaborating with engineers, project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors to deliver precise first-principle estimates and submission documents.
Key Responsibilities
·Evaluate project scopes, risks, and pricing strategies to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
·Produce comprehensive estimates and tender documents within agreed timeframes.
·Develop estimates using first-principles methodologies and software tools.
·Manage multiple estimates and tenders simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met.
·Lead bid processes, coordinating resources and teams to produce high-quality submissions.
·Prepare and refine proposals, including draft design sketches where required.
·Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare accurate commercial documents for peer review.
·Present tender proposals, methodologies, and documents for final approval by senior management.
·Collaborate with business development teams to ensure all estimating activities align with project objectives.
Requirements & Qualifications
·Extensive experience in estimating roles within civil engineering or multi-utility sectors.
·Consideration will be given to candidates with Senior Estimator experience.
·Proficiency in creating estimates using software and developing first-principles methodologies.
·A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
·Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in a similar role.
·GCSEs Grade 9-4 or equivalent.
·Self-driven, results-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, reactive environment.
·Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver excellent customer service.
