WAREHOUSE TEAM LEADER
BASED: Polar Speed Distribution Ltd, Danny Morson Way, Birch Coppice Business Park, Dordon, B78 1SE
HOURS: 07:00 – 15:30 and 15:30 - 00:00 Hrs Monday – Friday whilst training; once trained, the shift is likely to be 09:30 - 18:00 Hrs Monday - Friday. Flexibility required to suit the needs of the business, which may be of an urgent medical nature.
SALARY: £32,473.68 per annum, 40 hours per week

As one of our Warehouse Team Leaders, you’ll support the effective management of the day-to-day operations of the warehouse team, monitoring staff performance, briefing the team on daily workflows, managing team time, and ensuring the picking, checking, and packing of cold chain and ambient pharmaceutical products. In addition, you will plan, coordinate, and monitor the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, assisting with the collection of data and converting it to scheduled KPI reports.
Act as a first-line escalation for employee or workflow issues and triage or escalate as appropriate.

The successful candidate for this role must have prior Warehouse Managerial/Team Leader experience, dealing with temperature control desired but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Effectively manage the day-to-day operations of the warehouse team to meet demand and overall workload.
2. Monitor staff performance and carry out team briefings when required.
3. Manage the time & attendance of the staff within the Polar Speed company protocols.
4. Ensure picking, checking, and packing of cold chain and ambient pharmaceutical products are fulfilled.
5. Assist in the continuous improvement of processes and procedures within the warehouse staff and facilities.
6. Plan, coordinate, and monitor the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.
7. Monitor temperature compliance of all inbound/outbound consignments.
8. Monitor priority emails to assign work.
9. Ensure the highest level of hygiene is maintained throughout the warehouse, in accordance with GDP regulations.
10. Assist with the collection of data and report warehouse Key Performance Indicators.
11. Liaise with customers, suppliers, and other departments.
12. Process Returns (including Quarantined, Damaged, and Batch Recalls).
13. Manage and co-ordinate stock take and cycle counting activities to ensure the required level of service is provided to the customer.
14. Where possible, resolve any issues or problems which occur in the warehouse; where appropriate, elevate the issue to a more senior level.
15. Train new Warehouse operatives within the area of responsibility.
16. Ensure staff comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations and work safely to protect themselves and others in the warehouse environment.
17. Report progress updates, key achievements, and any concerns to the Warehouse Supervisor and/or Manager.
18. When directed by a manager, undertake any other task appropriate to the skills and responsibilities of a warehouse operative.
Key Skills/Experience/Requirements:
1. Warehouse Team Lead/Managerial experience essential.
2. Good working knowledge of IT packages, Word, Excel, Internet/Intranet.
3. Good team player and decision maker with excellent leadership skills.
4. Good organization skills, show initiative and prioritize workload.
5. An eye for detail and ability to work well under pressure.
