Salary: up to £40,000 per annum plus benefits
Join our established Mechanical Building Services team in Sunderland under the guidance of a Senior Mechanical Engineer. You'll contribute to complex and technical projects across sectors such as residential, commercial, retail, sports/leisure, healthcare, and more, working with both new and existing clients, developers, and contractors.
Ideal candidates will have 3-5 years of UK design consultancy experience, relevant engineering qualifications, and CIBSE membership. You'll become an integral part of our expanding multi-disciplined MEP team.
Main Responsibilities:
* Assist in developing conceptual and detailed design solutions.
* Conduct detailed mechanical services design and calculations using Hevacomp, IES, or similar software.
* Support in producing mechanical specifications, schedules, reports, and technical papers.
* Communicate professionally and build strong client relationships.
* Conduct feasibility studies and initial, concept, and detailed designs.
* Provide technical support and advice, working directly with clients.
* Represent the business in meetings and assist in general office duties.
* Demonstrate knowledge and capability in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and similar tools.
Requirements
Qualifications:
* HNC/Degree in Building Services, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
* Working towards Chartered Engineer status or equivalent.
Experience:
* Mechanical services design, including HVAC systems and sustainable technologies.
* Project management on M&E design projects.
* Knowledge of UK Building Regulations, Design Standards, and Guides.
* Experience with a UK engineering consultancy.

What We’re Looking For: Experience: Minimum of 5 years (excluding training) in electronic security and life safety systems with an NSI Gold accredited company. Technical Skills: Proficient in installing, commissioning, maintaining, and fault-finding on various security systems. Knowledge: Familiarity with brands such as Honeywell, Menvier, Texecom, Paxton, Videx, C-Tec, Advanced, Morley, Hikvision, Hanwha, and Avigilon. IT & Networking: Strong understanding of IT, networking, electrical, and electronic principles. Availability: Willingness to join the 24-hour call-out rota. Additional Skills: Self-managed with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good judgment and decision-making skills under time constraints. Excellent vehicle stock control and organizational skills. Adherence to health and safety policies. Proficient in completing audit paperwork and job sheets. Clean driving license and a professional attitude.
