Senior Python Developer Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Python Web Developer with some React experience to join our fast-paced team. This individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-performance applications using Python and React. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will ensure that these services and the overall application are robust, tested and easy to maintain. You will coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality product is important. This is a hybrid role - three days per week in our Newcastle office. Key Responsibilities: What you'll be doing: - Collaborate with UX/UI designers to implement design into the code - Coach junior team members - Manage testing and bug fixes - Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements - Develop and maintain high-performance applications using Python and React. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement new features. - Write clean, maintainable, and testable code. - Optimise applications for maximum speed and scalability. - Troubleshoot and debug issues that arise in production environments. - Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software development. - Participate in code reviews and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. Skills needed: - Strong experience with Python web development, including deep understanding of Django or Flask frameworks. - Understanding of development principles such as Object-Oriented Programming, design patterns and Agile methodologies. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a positive attitude and strong teamwork abilities. - Experience with database technologies such as MySQL or PostgreSQL and associated Python ORM's is essential. - Familiarity with cloud technologies (e.g. AWS), REST APIs, container tools (e.g. Docker), version control (e.g. Git). - Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Linear. - Some experience using React would be ideal. - Experience using GoLang or a demonstrable willingness to learn new languages will be looked on favourably.
