Closing Date 30/12/2024 Job Title: Risk Specialist Location: Hampshire- Office base will be Peel Common- Hybrid- 3 office and 2 WFH Work type: Permanent Hours: 37 hours per week Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum We are currently recruiting for a Regional Risk Specialist acting as a focal point within Wastewater Treatments in Hampshire to consolidate and track escalated operational risks to HSSW, Customer, Environment and Budget to provide wastewater services to our customer within the region. Supporting the Field Performance Managers within the area, you will be responsible for generating and updating a Heat Map to communicate the risk impact which then will be assessed and tracked to solution through collaborate working with internal stakeholders. Through regular liaison and application of corporate delivery strategies, ensure that the appropriate corrective risk reduction solution is implemented. This role will be key to ensuring risk reduction work is progressed demonstrating improvements in HSSW, customer nuisance, environmental compliance, and efficient financial control. Therefore you will demonstrate a strong technical and operational background, a focus on detrimental impact and an understanding of asset risk management, together with a collaborative approach and clear drive for continuous improvement. Your support will be critical in putting corrective measures in place to get the investment in place, to keep large piece of equipment’s function and generate strong business case to obtain the required fundings in the short term and long term for bigger investments. Responsible for putting in long term plans to get the required investment that can be big, which is very exciting Your responsibilities will include: •Ensuring the identification and coordination of escalated risks within an operational region, responsible for impact assessment and mapping of risks against internal risk criteria’s •Management of risk Heat Map, updating on the progress of risk reduction plan, required to route and track risk reduction through appropriate solution delivery strategy •Facilitation and administration of Regional Risk Review Meetings, ensuring attendance and involvement from internal stakeholders •Understanding complex risk when expressed through liaison with internal stakeholders and undertaking field risk investigations with the ability to express complex risk in specific need statement to ensure efficient interpretation of required solution options. •Uses judgement, knowledge and experience to make informed decisions sometimes where you do not have access to all of the data about a given situation. •Facilitation of Solution Development sessions, ensuring inclusion and involvement from internal stakeholders to identify required complex solutions. •Expected to build relationships across Southern Water to ensure that business units work in partnership to deliver the company’s strategic goals To be successful in this role, you will be able to understand and assess risks based on multiple sources of information, preferably a good background working within a regulated environment. You will be travelling occasionally to our Waste Water treatment sites in the Hampshire Region to engage with internal stakeholders, therefore driving license is essential. With your strong operational background ideally within Wastewater and with clear track record of delivering operational health & safety, environmental and customer impact improvements, you will have exposure to generating business case, reviewing supply chain and looking at right technical solutions by conducting root cause analysis. Being confident working with internal stakeholders at all levels, you will be self-motivated and have a proactive approach to routine and repetitive workload in this fully empowered role.
