The Role Clinical Pharmacist, Cancer Care, NHS Lanarkshire Band: 7, 37 hours/week. Applications for part time hours will be considered Contract: Fixed term – 1 year (Maternity leave cover) We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic pharmacist to join the cancer pharmacy team delivering the highest quality pharmacy services across these areas within NHS Lanarkshire. The post holder will contribute to the development and delivery of the clinical pharmacy service in cancer care. NHS Lanarkshire is the second largest health board in the West of Scotland Cancer Network and provides specialist cancer services for patients across the three acute sites (University Hospital Monklands, University Hospital Wishaw and University Hospital Hairmyres), treating oncology and haematology patients within out-patient, day-case and in-patient settings. You will join a supportive pharmacy team, and work closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team committed to the development of services to cancer patients. The post is based at University Hospital Wishaw. The cancer service in NHS Lanarkshire is distributed across all three hospital sites and thus the post holder will be expected to work in any of the three sites as required. Applicants should have relevant post registration experience in hospital pharmacy and evidence of suitable post-registration professional development. Cancer experience is desirable but not essential and candidates will be fully supported through relevant training. Ability to effectively monitor patients’ therapeutic regimens in order to ensure effectiveness and reduce toxicity Ability to work effectively as part of a team, in a pharmacy and multi-disciplinary environment. Commitment to revalidation as per directions of General Pharmaceutical Council Good verbal and written communication skills Self-motivation Participation in weekends and public holiday service Participation in pharmacy emergency duty service Willingness to contribute to the general working of the pharmacy department Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
