Qualified Social Worker – Localities Team Location: London Borough of Sutton Rate: £38.50 per hour Hybrid Working – 3 days in the office The Localities Team in Sutton is looking for a Qualified Social Worker to support children and families using a strengths-based, relationship-focused approach. Sutton’s practice model is built on trauma-informed and restorative social work, aiming to empower families while ensuring children's safety and well-being. The Role: As a Social Worker in the Localities Team, you will: Manage a caseload of children and families under Child in Need, Child Protection, and Care Proceedings. Work within Sutton’s Restorative Practice framework, supporting families to make sustainable changes. Undertake Section 47 Child Protection investigations and contribute to strategy discussions. Develop and review Child in Need and Child Protection Plans, ensuring interventions are proportionate and effective. Work closely with multi-agency partners, including schools, health professionals, and early help services, to coordinate support for children. Attend court when required, preparing high-quality reports and evidence for proceedings. Support children on the edge of care, working to prevent family breakdown where possible. What You Need: A Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England. Experience working within safeguarding, assessment, or locality teams. Strong knowledge of Child in Need, Child Protection, and Care Proceedings. An understanding of Sutton’s practice model, including Restorative Practice and Trauma-Informed approaches.
