The Opportunity: The Internal Chemicals & Chromatography Sales Specialist is responsible for increasing revenue and profit and supporting the field based Product Specialists and Account Management Teams, in achieving sales & margin targets for VWR UK Chemicals & Chromatography b usiness. MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Consistently achieve IOP for sales and margin in our Chemicals & Chromatography portfolio Proactive selling of the product ranges including cross selling other products and services Provide technical product support to customers and VWR colleagues Create, negotiate and follow up quotations Source new products and manage the market source/TPP workflow Participate in tenders, and large product lists for quotation to find products and answer technical requirements Establishes relationships with suppliers to ensure the best technical and price support for VWR Provides Manager with up to date reports on sales activities and issues Send samples when requested from customers or through quotations or tenders Order, register and follow up demo products according to the demo unit management process Send out catalogues, brochures, promotions & manage through Athena Liaise with local, Regional & European counterparts within the Chemicals & Chromatography business teams and marketing teams Participate in supplier trainings and meetings Develop and follow up on ZPSP request opportunities with suppliers and the internal ZPSP workflow Create and follow up new product code set up via ZMMDESEIGN QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience & Certifications) Degree level qualification essential (Science and/or Business discipline) Previous external/internal sales experience is preferred but not essential Proven track record in achieving targets is preferred but not essential KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES Good product knowledge, ability to learn quickly and maintains updated knowledge of products and market Self motivated, focused & driven individual who can handle rejection positively Strong negotiations skills Strong commercial understanding and knowledge of the market, the competition within and pricing and discount structures Passion in liaising with internal and external customers and suppliers/manufacturers, a strong team player In depth knowledge of procurement, both strategically and operationally, sourcing, market analysis, cost analysis, contract negotiation and supplier performance level service agreements/performance metrics Keen awareness of profitability metrics and steps to maximise same Excellent time management and multi tasking capabilities Self starter, proactive individual, works on own initiative with minimal supervision Confident in own decision making abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Team player, can deputise for colleagues when required IT Literate, proficient in the use of SAP, C4C, Qlickview, and MS Office applications Disclaimer: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification.
