This role could open up a world of opportunity for an accomplished engineer with proven Instrument Engineering skills. Here’s why we think it’s a fantastic opportunity to broaden your professional horizons: You’ll be a vital part of a global team of experts who design, commission and support licensed chemical plants for numerous global customers in several innovative technologies. You’ll be leading global programs that span the business portfolio across the entire project lifecycle – from instrument design, software testing, commissioning and start-up. You’ll work within a multi-disciplinary team with occasional travel to support clients in Asia, Europe, and the Americas. When you’re not travelling, you’ll be based in the Wilton Centre, on Teesside, once the headquarters of ICI. This is a genuine centre of expertise, and this organisation is one of the region’s most successful, well-reputed businesses. You’ll be a visible part of a standalone UK company that employs over 100 people, but with the added security of being part of one of the planet’s largest privately-owned businesses. What you can add One of a handful of Instrument Engineers in the Engineering Team, your role is to deliver comprehensive instrument design packages for process technology licence projects. You’ll be pivotal in developing new technologies within multi-disciplinary projects. You’re a technically capable engineer (with a degree to back that up) – someone who enjoys the technical challenge as much as they enjoy the team management side of things, this includes supervising and developing less-experienced team members. Personally, you’ll need to fit in with the business's guiding principles, which help the company to innovate, improve and transform. Qualities like humility, integrity and respect are essential here, combined with intellectual curiosity to creatively solve problems and help others succeed. We’re open-minded about your background – possibly oil and gas, chemical processing or working within an instrument manufacturer. What matters is that you have experience in designing process and safety logic systems and developing robust process-control strategies. The role will be predominantly based at the Wilton Centre, Teesside, with a flexible working model. Financial support will be offered to people considering relocating to northeast England, an area with dramatic countryside, stunning coastlines and an affordable lifestyle.
