The company have offices based in the Midlands, Peterborough, Kent, Doncaster, Surrey and London. The company specialise in Rail infrastructure, Highways infrastructure, Water and New build. About the role Due to the company rebuilding their commercial team, there is need for a Quantity Surveyor to support the senior quantity surveyor, within the Highways maintenance sector of the company. You will be responsible for managing costs with the goal of making as much profit as possible for the company on the projects you’ll be working on and ensuring delivery of payment whilst developing client relationships. The successful individual will be involved in viewing and evaluating payments including site measurements and will undertake general surveying of projects as required including reviewing and pricing of variations and preparing valuations with Project Managers and the Commercial Director. The projects that you’ll be involved in will be ranging from highways term maintenance works to bridge infrastructure around the Bath area. My client has a ten year framework with the local council and that is the project that you will be working on. Term contract for maintenance and improvement works on highways, bridges and other paved areas. Works taking place over an original 5 year term, with 5 years additional awarded through meeting of KPI targets: Carriageway/Footway patching & resurfacing White works Floor relief/Drainage improvement schemes Cyclic gully cleansing Emergency response Winter maintenance Bridge maintenance Benefits and rewards The company is huge on personal development, progression and long term stability. Requirements You’ll be required to have a good standard of education preferably to Foundation Degree level (HND,HNC) in a Construction, Civils, commercial management or quantity surveying or equivalent qualification. It’s important to have experience working within highways for a tier 1 or tier 2 company as a quantity surveyor and to show good long term stability at the companies you have worked for. You’ll also need a full UK driver’s license to allow to get from the office to the construction site and to other locations you might require to visit
