Job Description Quality Technologist Location: Newry, County Down, Northern Ireland Here at Hunter Savage we are partnering with a leading FMCG client in Newry. After 30 years of business the client have grown into a leading food-to-go manufacturer, operating across four sites including their London facility in Slough, UK. Their extensive range now covers breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and bakery treats. The client is committed to delivering quality products through continuous improvement, product development, and innovation. Position: Quality Technologist (Full-time) This is an exciting opportunity to join the team in Newry and to contribute to the dynamic and commercially focused business. Reports to: Factory Quality Manager Key Responsibilities: • Serve as a member of the HACCP Team. • Obtain new raw material specifications from suppliers and keep approved supplier information up to date. • Conduct Weekly Taste Panels and GMP Audits. • Maintain Quality Attribute Sheets and Training Manuals. • Perform internal audits, communicate non-conformances, and ensure corrective actions are implemented. • Support third-party (BRC) and customer audits. • Drive continual improvement in processes, procedures, equipment, and fabrication. • Contribute to the Food Safety and Quality Culture Team. • Assist with training programs, including induction training. Skills and Experience: • Strong communication skills (interpersonal, listening, written, and oral). • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities. • Trustworthy, reliable, and able to coach and train others. • Team player with a positive and professional attitude. • Ability to work independently and take accountability. • Flexible approach to work to meet business needs. • 2-3 years of QA/Technical experience in a chilled short shelf life food manufacturing environment. • Understanding of food microbiology, allergens, food labelling, and food information regulation. Qualifications: • Third-level qualification or equivalent in Food Science. • Level 3 Food Safety/HACCP certification. • BRC Audit experience. • Minimum two years’ experience in the food industry/manufacturing/Quality Management.
