You will be part of our onsite engineering team, contributing to preventive, reactive, and corrective maintenance on plant equipment. Our goal is to improve machine reliability, availability, and capacity to meet manufacturing standards.
The role involves increasing operational effectiveness, improving project delivery, reducing downtime, and managing improvement plans while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. You will liaise with the SHEQ team to address safety, environmental, audit, GMP, COSHH, and ISO quality issues, ensuring full compliance with UK regulations and global manufacturing standards.
Your key responsibilities:
* Providing reactive and proactive maintenance on operational equipment and infrastructure
* Liaising with external contractors for reactive maintenance and scheduling planned service maintenance, including checking RAMS, inducting personnel, issuing permits, and supervising contractor work
* Completing and signing off on planned maintenance via the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and ensuring timely completion
* Participating in projects and continuous improvement initiatives, highlighting deficiencies, and recommending process changes
* Administering the CMMS (Frontline) to ensure accuracy for maintenance and stock activities
Essential skills for this role:
* Multi-skilled maintenance engineer with Mechanical & Electrical qualifications
* IOSH Managing Safely certification
* Experience in heavy industrial or waste environments
* Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Kanban, OEE, TOC
* Understanding of mechanical drive systems including simplex, duplex, chain, belt, gearboxes, and transmissions
