Hays Education are currently working with a primary school in the Wigan area to help them find a KS1 Teacher for September. This is a temporary position from September to April, but the role could be extended until the end of summer for the right individual. This is a very warm and weing school, with a great supportive staff network. This school works closely with parents to ensure that all children reach the highest standards of which they are capable.
Your new role
This job role will see you taking on full teaching responsibility for a class within KS1, and it is a perfect role for those who have a passion for the early years primary school teaching. You will be responsible for planning and delivering lessons, and you will need to make these fun and engaging and ensure they suit the needs of the pupils. The school also has access to outdoor learning areas and encourages this teaching style through their staff. You will have the support of a class teaching assistant, and you should assess children regularly as well as attend parents' evenings, so that parents are kept up to date with pupil progress.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you must possess Qualified Teacher Status. Experience of teaching EYFS/KS1 is preferred, but the school is open to KS1/2 experience. You need to be a good team player, have good time management and behaviour management skills.
