Aberdeenshire Children's Homes provide a loving home for groups of 3 to 5 young people, usually aged between 11 – 18 years. Our trauma informed approach affords young people the opportunity to experience a high level of care in an understanding and non-judgmental environment.

As part of our team, you would:
- Provide a relational, warm, and understanding approach to our young people and families.
- Demonstrate core values in line with ‘The Promise’ whilst advocating for the rights of our young people.
- Embrace our nurturing approach to the individual needs of our young people in line with Dan Hughes ‘Dyadic Developmental Practice’.
- Work within a friendly, caring, forward thinking, fun and enthusiastic team.
- Work within current legislation, policies, and procedures of Aberdeenshire Council through working in partnership with other professionals and agencies.
- Evidence a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
We are seeking relief staff who can cover shifts on an as and when required basis within our children’s homes. Applicants should have good availability for working during week days (Monday to Friday) as well as weekends.
We are looking for staff who can work in all 4 of our children’s homes when needed:
- Fernbank Childrens Home, Peterhead
- Fraserburgh Childrens Home, Fraserburgh
- Taizali Children’s Home, Fraserburgh
- Coblehaugh Childrens Home, Inverurie

Requirements
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
This post will require you to have obtained SSSC registration within 3 months of employment.
This post has a minimum requirement of two references, one of which must be your current or most recent employer.
