Would you like to take the lead role in running and developing our Computer Science A Level course? If you have an in-depth knowledge of computing, are an experienced programmer and also have experience in databases, PHP and JavaScript, we would love to hear from you.
This exciting role will include:
1. Teaching Year 1 and Year 2 A Level Computer Science and could potentially be increased to include A Level Maths.
2. Develop and update course materials to reflect current industry standards and practices.
3. Supporting students in achieving their qualifications and career goals.
4. Maintaining accurate records of student progress and achievements.
5. Participating in team meetings and contributing to the continuous improvement of our courses.
If you can demonstrate the following, then we'd love to hear from you:
1. Degree level qualification (or higher) within the relevant field.
2. Teaching qualification or be currently working towards one/willing to undertake a PGCE.
3. Evidence of preparing and delivering high-quality lessons that engage students and to use differentiated objectives and formative assessment for ensuring the progress of all students.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Commitment to student success and professional development.
6. Ability to work flexibly and adapt to the needs of the institution and students.
Successful candidates will also have a clear track record of securing good outcomes for students and an understanding of the importance of raising the standard of teaching, intervening and using a range of strategies to raise achievement. Knowledge and experience of monitoring student progress and effective use of student data systems to raise standards are also essential for this post.
College location: Lewes
Annual salary: £25835 to £39808 per annum, subject to qualifications, experience & skills (pro rata for part time).
Hours: Part time, 14 hours per week, full year, permanent contract.
