Transport and Logistics Manager
Salary: 30,000 - 40,000

Working Hours: Monday-Thursday 7.15am-4.30pm, Friday 7.15am-12.30pm

The role of the Logistics Manager includes overall control of five 3.5 tonnes vans within the business, all staff associated with order fulfilment working towards an OTIF target. This includes ensuring all loads are delivered accurately, with correct documentation, in a timely manner. The role also requires management of incoming loads from suppliers and the movement of goods between various sites internally.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Management of vehicle fleet to include service schedules and bookings, keeping suitable records, daily use checks records, driver compliance, general cleanliness, preventative maintenance, and use of tracking software.
* Make delivery bookings with customers as required.
* Liaise with customer service team regarding delivery schedules.
* Route and load planning for outbound deliveries.
* Ensure all documentation is correctly raised for all outbound orders.
* Return all documentation to accounts department, including proof of delivery, to allow for invoicing.
* Check accuracy of outbound goods against customer requirements, cross-checking against works orders.
* Provide logistical support to move waste material between sites.
* Provide logistical support to move materials between storage facilities as required for production.
* Manage a team of drivers and forklift drivers/yard operatives, including daily tasking and holiday bookings.
* Manage incoming loads, working together with other managers, directing materials accordingly, and carrying out necessary administrative tasks (booking into stock - confirming accuracy of goods delivered, etc.).
* Attend daily production meetings, feedback to customer services, and liaise with production team to ensure goods are available for delivery as planned.
* Maintain an organised despatch area, with customer orders organised in date order in preparation for shipment.
* Manage the loading of export containers/vehicles including all export documentation as required.
* Organise use of 3rd party couriers where necessary.
* Manage team to ensure daily housekeeping is carried out.
* Be responsible for enforcing Health and Safety policies across all relevant areas.
Experience
* Experience in a similar role is essential.
* FLT licence is advantageous.
* Full clean driving licence is essential.
* A good level of IT experience is a must.
* Knowledge of using an ERP system advantageous (Microsoft Dynamics - training will be provided).
