At Cedar Oak, the Care Deputy Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of high-quality care services, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a positive environment for both service users and staff. Working closely with the Care Manager, the Deputy Manager leads by example, supervising staff, and ensuring service excellence.
Leadership and Management:
Support the Registered Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the service.
Supervise and mentor care staff, ensuring they deliver person-centred care in line with policies and procedures.
Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and training new staff.
Monitor staff performance and conduct appraisals, identifying areas for development.
Operational Oversight:
Ensure care plans are accurate, up to date, and reflect individual service users' needs.
Manage staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage at all times.
Support the Registered Manager in maintaining compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, and care standards.
Service User Care:
Promote a culture of dignity, respect, and independence for service users.
Address complex care needs and escalate concerns to appropriate healthcare professionals.
Oversee medication administration and ensure adherence to prescribers' instructions.
Communication and Liaison:
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to coordinate care plans and interventions.
Assist in handling complaints and concerns, ensuring timely resolution.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate records, including staff rotas, incident reports, and care logs.
Support the Registered Manager in audits, inspections, and reporting requirements.
Manage budgets and resources efficiently, minimizing waste.
Requirements:
A Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Level 5 preferred or willingness to work towards).
Proven experience in a senior care or management role within a care setting.
Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and care standards.
Exceptional leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends as required.
Full UK Driving and Experience Driving in the UK.
Training and Development:
The Care Deputy Manager is expected to complete all mandatory training and demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development, including attending relevant leadership courses and workshops.
