Job summary We are a welcoming GP surgery in Steyning, West Sussex, serving a patient population of approximately 12,000. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential care and support to patients, ensuring high standards of healthcare are maintained. You will be working both independently and collaboratively with our Practice Nurses and General Practiioners to deliver excellent patient care. Strong communication skills and a patient-centred approach are essential for this role. Main duties of the job To provide nursing support to the Practice Nurse and General Practitioners to ensure the efficient and effective provision of the full range of nursing services to the patients of the practice. Venepuncture and the taking and preparing of pathology samples. Conduct weight and height measurements, test and record blood pressure and blood sugar levels. The testing and results recording of clinical specimens. Undertake ECG's. Arrange 24 hour BP monitoring. Assist with the provision of health checks. To under take dressings under supervision and training by the practice nurses. Urea Breath Tests. Ensure Adequate stock levels in stock room, treatment rooms and cupboards. The checking and recording of medical supplies on receipt. The inputting of information onto the clinical system. The collection and replacement of clinical sharps waste, ensuring appropriate storage prior to disposal. The ongoing cleaning of clinical equipment, trolleys and working surfaces, preparing treatment rooms prior to use. Ensure adequate infection control procedures in treatment and all consulting rooms. Work safely at all time sin accordance with Legislative requirements and Practice Policy and Procedures.
