Location: London, Birmingham, Bracknell or Manchester (SCC operate hybrid working, which comprises of a mix of office and home working)
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary Package: Competitive base salary plus large company benefits, bonus, a broad flexible benefits scheme, and 2 paid-for volunteering days a year
Hours: 9.00 am – 5.30 pm Monday – Friday

Role purpose:
The Microsoft Advisory Consultant will support and engage around Microsoft Enterprise customers by providing licensing expertise and true-up support for both new and existing clients. Collaborating closely with the Microsoft Operations team, this role is crucial in ensuring efficient quoting and Bill of Materials (BOMs) preparation. The successful candidate will advise internal teams on licensing, pricing, amendments and concessions, while also working directly with customers to address their licensing needs and identify potential service opportunities.
Key responsibilities:
* Conduct regular workshops and engaging presentations for our clients, helping them understand the intricacies of Microsoft solutions.
* Collaborate with our Solutions Sales team as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing insights and technical guidance during pre-sales activities.
* Dive into complex data sets, analyse trends and create actionable reports that drive informed decision-making.
* Offer strategic recommendations to align customer roadmaps with Microsoft’s technology and license stack.
* Translate licensing options and financial impacts, empowering organizations to negotiate effectively.
* Provide exceptional support to our clients, addressing their queries and ensuring their satisfaction.
* Ensure that all licensing and solution recommendations comply with relevant regulations and standards and manage any associated risk.
* Stay updated with the latest Microsoft technologies and licensing changes and continuously improve consulting practices to deliver the best value to clients.
Skills and experience:
* Exam 70-705: Designing and Providing Microsoft Licensing Solutions to Large Organizations (or equivalent) preferred but not essential.
* Proven hands-on experience with Microsoft software licensing (SAM-based or sales equivalent).
* Extensive track record in negotiating software proposals for Microsoft offerings.
* Experience in the preparation of Microsoft Agreements and Enrolments.
* Demonstrable ability to setup and onboard customers with SCC and Microsoft.
* Background in working within IT, Software Asset Management or a related domain.
* Solid business acumen with the ability to translate technical requirements into business terms.
* Ability to uncover opportunities within the customer base that align with the company's GTM strategy.
* Subject matter expert in Microsoft Licensing and Product Use Rights.
* Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft licensing contracts, practices, terms and conditions and a strong general knowledge of Microsoft solutions and services.
* In-depth and strategic knowledge of Microsoft Licensing programs, tools (i.e. Explore.ms, POET – Partner Self-Service) and platforms.
* Expert in operations processes for transacting Microsoft Volume Licensing.
* Deep understanding of Microsoft purchasing motions.
* Ability to follow the Microsoft T-36 framework throughout the customer agreement lifecycle.
* Skilled in providing issue resolution and escalation management.
* Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities with a passion for customer service.
* Exceptional collaboration skills, working with sales to develop and maintain customer account plans and supporting customer calls as a subject matter expert.
