The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant Primary SEMH school in Bristol on a part-time basis. Working three days a week, starting in January 2025, you will provide crucial support to children who need it most. This role offers the opportunity to help children overcome barriers to learning and develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting primary-aged students with SEMH needs in small groups and one-to-one sessions.
* Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
* Helping students regulate their emotions and develop positive behavior strategies.
* Building strong relationships with students to enhance their confidence and self-esteem.
* Promoting a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment.
About You:
The ideal candidate will:
* Have experience working with children with SEMH or similar needs, ideally in a primary school setting.
* Be patient, empathetic, and understanding of individual student challenges.
* Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Have knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
* Hold a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
