Our HARBOUR AUTHORITY, PARKS AND VISIT CARDIFF Teams are looking to employ a Corporate Apprentice (Level 3) Digital Marketing Assistant based at Queen Alexandra House, CF10 4LY, Bute Park Education Centre, CF10 3DX and County Hall CF10 4LY to contribute to our Service helping us to deliver community liaison projects and events as well as marketing of key venues and destination marketing around Cardiff Bay, Flat Holm, Bute Park and visitors to Cardiff to maximise the tourism and visitor offer for the economic benefit of Cardiff. The postholder will also gain valuable experience in other Parks, Leisure and Sport as assistance is required
The Harbour Community Liaison team manage community liaison projects and events as well as marketing of venues through digital media, print and campaigns- including Flat Holm Island, Cardiff Barrage, Wetlands, Cardiff Sailing Centre, Channel View Leisure Centre water activities and other venues and destinations around Cardiff Bay – the aim is to maximise the tourism and visitor experience for Cardiff to increase footfall and to attract income
Bute Park is a major visitor destination and Cardiff’s premier city-centre park with a nationally significant tree collection and is known as the ‘green heart of the city’. The park receives over 2.5 million visits per year and hosts a busy calendar of events and community activity. The park is highly regarded and holds a Green Flag Award.
Visit Cardiff is the official tourism organisation for the capital city. They work with key stakeholders to increase brand awareness and improve the reputation of the destination through a variety of marketing campaigns and partnerships. This includes traditional advertising, digital campaigns, PR, and sponsorship. They also help deliver campaigns for major events, Council tourist attractions, and visitor amenities.
As a Corporate Apprentice Marketing Assistant you will be supported in the workplace to develop the skills you need to make an effective contribution to our Service. You will be provided with a range of workplace activities and experiences, as directed by the manager, and will undertake a range of duties and learning opportunities including, but not limited to, those listed below, whilst also undertaking and completing a relevant Apprenticeship qualification.
• Contribute to the digital marketing of our venues and visitor experiences via e.g. Social media, publicity, advertising campaigns, online activities
• Collect and organise digital market metrics and research data
• Contribute to measuring market performance and evaluation
• Work with others and understand the business environment
• Improve own performance in a business environment
• Learn and use the principles of social media to deliver digital and social media
• advertising and promotion to increase venues footfall and income.
• Understand legal, regulatory and ethical requirements in sales and marketing
• Introduction to search engine and content management for marketing purposes for a range of venues in Cardiff
• Learn to use website software to update venue websites
• To be proactive, adaptable, and responsive to change
• To assist with the provision of a high-quality service – this may include developing homeworking skills for some roles.
• To support internal and external customer requests and ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.
• To communicate with a range of internal and/or external customers as required
• To assist other team members in the carrying out of their duties
• To work with others to carry out duties linked to the section in which the Apprentice is placed.
• To undertake and complete all training and development experiences as required.
• To participate in Corporate Scheme events
