Pastoral / Behavioural Support Officer is becoming a vital service within Education. There has been a rise in the demand for this provision across all our schools. They are focused on providing support, mentoring, and care for the physical and emotional welfare of their students.
As a Behavioural Support Officer, you will operate a centralised student hub to offer mentoring and counselling to students who do not have that support around them.
Working under the direction of the Deputy Headteacher, you will co-ordinate the support and provision for students who need help in overcoming barriers to learning and developing their potential by raising standards of behaviour for learning.
What is required for this role?
1. Providing care to pupils, ensuring their safety, and dealing with any problems the pupils may have.
2. Liaising with other staff members, parents/guardians, and professionals.
3. Following GDPR & Safeguarding protocol.
4. Resilient and instinctive approach in meeting students’ needs.
5. Use behaviour management strategies effectively and be able to work using your own initiative while following policies and procedures.
6. High level of flexibility and will welcome the opportunity to work in different settings with different approaches to engage the students.
