About the Project:
Future Build Recruitment are recruiting for a Tier 1 Contractor on a crucial infrastructure project based in Oxfordshire. The purpose of this project will be to help provide a clean water supply for customers across Oxfordshire and London.
Role Summary:
As a Site Engineer on this project, you will play a critical role in conducting clay compaction trials and contributing to constructability advice on this infrastructure project. Your work will inform the design and construction methodology for the reservoir's embankments and support the overall project's ground and environmental investigations. This role involves close collaboration with geologists, environmental experts, and infrastructure professionals to ensure the project's high standards in safety, quality, and environmental protection.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct Clay Compaction Trials: Execute and monitor clay compaction trials on three test embankments.
2. Data Collection and Analysis: Work with geologists to collect data on ground conditions and clay compaction under various conditions.
3. Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ): Ensure SHEQ standards are maintained throughout the site activities and act as a key support for SHEQ protocols during the trials.
4. Coordination of Ground Investigations: Oversee logistical activities for ground and environmental studies.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
2. CSCS (White), SSSTS/SMSTS, First Aid certificates are advantageous.
3. Proven experience in groundworks, earthworks, or geotechnical projects, ideally within large-scale infrastructure projects.
4. Strong understanding of clay compaction techniques and ground condition assessment.
5. Familiarity with SHEQ standards and procedures, especially in a construction setting.
6. Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
