Job Description
Accountable for the quality and completion of planned preventative maintenance routines, fault diagnosis, breakdown repairs, and installation work with industrial electrical systems.
Assisting the team leader in the completion of administrative and safety tasks pertaining to the Electrical discipline.
Work in accordance with safe systems of work, procedures, and statutory regulations.
Ensure own knowledge of electrical regulations and guidelines is kept up to date, e.g., Electricity at Work Regulations and best practice electrical isolation methods.
Maintain a good standard of housekeeping and ensure the correct use of PPE for required activities and areas.
Participate in safety inspections and risk assessments for maintenance activities and use of equipment.
Report accidents and incidents. Isolate and lock off dangerous machinery in accordance with site procedures.
Issue Permits to Work (PTW) and control activities according to company procedures.
Constructively participate in safety improvement activities designed to improve the safety performance of the business.
Qualifications
Apprentice trained technician with City and Guilds Level 3 Certificate or equivalent in electrical discipline.
Minimum of two years experience working in an industrial maintenance environment.
Knowledge of a wide range of industrial plant and machinery including AC and DC drives, PLC controls, and instrumentation.
Demonstrated competence/understanding of site safety systems, including permit to work procedures, electrical isolation methods, and other company policies.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
