Join Our Dynamic Committees! Make a Real Impact in Your Community
Leeds Jewish Welfare Board has been helping people in north Leeds for over 148 years. Today we support 1,000+ people of all ages every month. Every service is bespoke, from ad hoc help such as a kosher food pack or transport to attend our weekly activities to help with mental health, finding care or receiving 24/7 care and support for those most in need.
Are you passionate about making a difference and helping LJWB to positively change lives? We’re seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our committees and help us shape the future of LJWB. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or someone looking to give back, this is your chance to contribute to a cause that truly matters.
Your commitment:
Each committee is on average held 4-6 times a year early evening for about 90 minutes. Prior to the meetings, papers are sent out for your review and consideration. The role is voluntary but reasonable out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed. All our committee members are supported fully in their role as volunteers of LJWB and receive training in our mission, vision, values, and strategic goals, as well as legal obligations and our governance processes.
Open Roles:
1. Registered Care: Help us design, review and implement services that support our registered care services – providing 24/7 care and support to some of our more vulnerable members of the community. Your direct lived experience as someone who uses social care services, as a carer or having compassion for others can make a real difference in people’s lives and our services.
2. Finance and Corporate Services: Guide our financial and corporate services strategy and ensure we make the most of our resources. If you have a knack for numbers or HR, facilities management, or strategic thinking, we need your skills.
3. Catering: Join us in developing our new community interest company – Leeds Kosher Kitchen to provide kosher food to the Leeds community. Help us to develop our strategy, products, services, and community outreach programmes.
4. PR & Marketing: Quite simply help us spread the word about what we do! Your knowledge and expertise will help shape our brand, guide our social media plans, and develop campaigns that engage and inspire our community.
Why Join?
1. Make an Impact: Your contributions will directly benefit those we serve.
2. Develop Skills: Gain valuable experience and enhance your resume.
3. Network: Connect with like-minded individuals and professionals.
4. Be a Voice: Play a key role in decision-making processes.
Ready to Join? If you’re ready to make a difference, we want to hear from you! No previous experience on a committee? No problem—passion and commitment are what matter most.
Let’s work together to create a brighter future for our community in North Leeds.
