Cover Supervisors - Job in Coventry Education & Training Jobs
Are you looking for Cover Supervisor positions in Coventry? If you are looking for a route into teaching and want to gain experience before doing a PGCE, then I may be able to help. I work with a large number of secondary schools in Coventry who use cover supervisors for their sickness absences. The work is very flexible and variable, and I can find you work on the days you are free.
This role is an ideal way to get paid teaching experience before doing a PGCE and will help you make the decision about choosing teaching as a career. Cover Supervisor work is not for the faint-hearted, but it is a hugely effective and rewarding way to work in education and get an insight into the daily running and needs of a secondary school.
The Role:
1. A Cover Supervisor is likely to be used for day-to-day or short-term absences of a teacher.
2. Supervising work that has been set.
3. Managing the behaviour of pupils.
4. Dealing with immediate problems or emergencies according to school policies.
5. Providing additional support in classrooms.
6. Helping out in other duties when needed such as lunch time, registrations, detentions, and reception.
The Hours:
All supply staff are expected to be at school for 8.30am until the end of the school day. The work can be flexible, allowing any other work/studies you have to fit in with these commitments.
You will need to hold an enhanced DBS, but if you do not have one, I can help you with applying for this and I can talk you through and help with the process of getting registered.
If you would be interested in this role and would like more details, please send your CV and I will call you for an initial chat.
