Job Title: Data Cabling Engineer – Speaker Cable & PVC Containment Installation

Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Data Cabling Engineer with expertise in installing PVC containment systems to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation of speaker cabling and systems that are critical for lockdown and emergency communication in schools, universities, and colleges across the UK.
This role combines data cabling expertise with the ability to install and route PVC containment systems, ensuring a neat, professional, and secure installation in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Install speaker cables and systems designed for lockdown and emergency communication in educational institutions.
* Plan and install PVC containment to house and protect cabling infrastructure.
* Pull, terminate, and test data cables (Cat5e, Cat6, speaker cables, etc.).
* Ensure all installations are carried out in accordance with industry regulations and project specifications.
* Work closely with project managers to ensure timely completion of installations.
* Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness on site.
* Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostics of installed systems, ensuring proper operation and reliability.
* Prepare and maintain accurate records of installations and handovers.
* Provide post-installation support and maintenance as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Proven experience in data cabling installations, including speaker cabling and structured cabling systems.
* Proficiency in installing PVC containment, with a focus on neatness and durability.
* Experience working in public environments such as schools, universities, or colleges is preferred.
* Knowledge of emergency communication systems and AV integration is an advantage.
* Understanding of safety standards and regulations relevant to cabling and containment in educational environments.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, floor plans, and project specifications.
* Full UK driving licence, as nationwide travel will be required.

* Good communication skills, with the ability to liaise with clients, project managers, and colleagues.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
* Flexibility to travel nationwide and occasionally work outside regular hours to meet project deadlines.
Desirable Certifications:
* ECS/CSCS Card.
* Relevant cabling certifications (e.g., City & Guilds, BICSI).
* Health & Safety qualifications (e.g., PASMA, IPAF).
* First Aid certification is a plus.
* Enhanced DBS certificate
