Bradford Grammar School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Pastoral and Safeguarding Officer.
This role operates as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), working alongside the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to uphold the highest standards of safeguarding across the school.
The Pastoral and Safeguarding Officer plays an essential role in the effective and timely management of pastoral and safeguarding concerns, ensuring a proactive and responsive safeguarding culture. They are responsible for monitoring and managing safeguarding referrals through CPOMs, ensuring that all interventions align with child protection legislation and statutory guidance, including Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) and Working Together to Safeguard Children .
In addition to case management, the post holder will provide administrative and organisational support in the management of safeguarding records, ensuring accuracy and compliance in pupil safeguarding files and child protection matters. They will work closely with the wider pastoral team, supporting a safe, inclusive, and nurturing school environment where student welfare remains the highest priority.
The successful applicant must be reliable, dependable and committed to maintaining high professional standards together with a discreet and confidential nature, particularly when handling sensitive safeguarding matters.
You must have proven safeguarding experience in a pastoral or wellbeing role, with a strong understanding of statutory procedures, ideally within a school setting.
