Vacancy - Purchasing Coordinator Are you seeking a role in which you can support the Supply Chain strategy and assist with ensuring teams have the correct parts, materials and equipment to provide maximum asset uptime and availability? We are seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to join our team at the Port of Greenock, and help us keep the world moving Your role In this role you support teams across our Clydeport cluster (Greenock, Glasgow and Dublin) to ensure Supply Chain procedures and policies are followed. You will build and maintain excellent relationships with suppliers, negotiating prices and finding the best option of supply and ensuring parts/materials are available when they are required. Working closely with key internal stakeholders, you will develop an understanding of demand for parts for their areas. You will keep up to date with a rapidly changing market in order to manage costs and checking competitor guide prices regularly to ensure we are competitive in pitching sales. You will manage any invoicing or delivery queries promptly and effectively, liaising with the Accounts team as required. What you'll bring You will have previous experience in a purchasing role, ideally gained in a heavy industrial environment. With excellent interpersonal and communication skills, you will have the ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will be a self-motivated individual, with excellent negotiation skills. You will have strong IT skills, previous experience with SAP would be beneficial. Whilst predominantly based in Greenock, you will occasionally be required to travel to other sites within the Clydeport cluster. Who are we?
