About the Role
Our client is seeking to appoint ambitious, highly effective, and experienced Learning Support Assistants, ideally with experience supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), to join their dedicated team in Ilford. As an LSA, you will work closely with teachers, students, and other support staff to provide tailored assistance to pupils with additional learning needs. Your role will be instrumental in helping students build confidence, develop their skills, and achieve academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide one-to-one or small group support to students who require additional assistance.
2. Assist teachers in preparing and delivering engaging lessons.
3. Support students with special educational needs (SEN), particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder, to access the curriculum effectively.
4. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
5. Monitor and record student progress, reporting back to teachers and SEN coordinators.
6. Encourage social interaction and support emotional well-being.
7. Assist with classroom management and behaviour support where necessary.
What Our Client is Looking For:
1. Experience working with children in an educational setting (preferred but not essential).
2. Experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (desirable).
3. A patient, empathetic, and encouraging approach.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. A willingness to learn and adapt to different student needs.
6. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
7. Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable but not essential.
