Marketing Specialist (no agencies)
Job brief
We are looking for an enthusiastic Marketing Specialist to help us in our overall marketing efforts. You will develop and execute a new marketing plan in the holiday letting sector. Please see our website: www.thebighouseco.com.
Ideally, you should have a minimum of 3-4 years of experience. A Marketing Specialist should be a competent professional able to grasp consumer behaviour trends and generate creative ideas. You should also be well-versed in specialised marketing concepts, principles, and tactics.
The goal is to deliver effective marketing programs that will help our reputation and growth.
Responsibilities
1. Increase enquiries and improve conversions with the right target markets.
2. Increase repeat clients and encourage more referrals, especially within the group/party sectors.
3. Instigate outbound and inbound marketing activities by demonstrating expertise in various areas (content development and optimisation, advertising, events planning, etc.).
4. Plan and execute initiatives to reach the target audience through appropriate channels, especially ‘free’ PR (social media, e-mail, national media, etc.).
5. Develop and continually improve the website and its usability.
6. Analyse marketing data (competitor analysis, campaign results, conversion rates, traffic, etc.) to help shape future marketing strategies.
7. Develop ideas for creative marketing campaigns and undertake tasks of a marketing plan.
8. Liaise with external vendors to execute promotional events and campaigns.
Requirements and skills
1. Proven experience as a marketing specialist or similar role.
2. Thorough understanding of marketing elements (including traditional and digital marketing such as SEO/social media, etc.) and market research methods.
3. Demonstrable experience in marketing data analytics and tools - desired.
4. Solid computer skills, including MS Office, marketing software (Adobe Creative Suite & CRM), and applications (Web analytics, Google Adwords, etc.).
5. Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and web development tools (e.g., Wordpress/Dreamweaver) - desired but not essential.
6. Well-organised and detail-oriented.
7. Commercial awareness partnered with a creative mind.
8. BSc/BA in marketing, communications, or equivalent - desired but not essential.

2-3 days a week, with a minimum of 2 days office-based for the first 3 months.
Full-time pro-rata equivalent salary range from £30,000-£50,000 per annum, depending on experience/skills.
Within 18 months, there is potential to increase to 4-5 days a week, but this is fully negotiable.
