Field Technical Support Officer
Our public sector client is looking for a First Line Technical Support Officer to provide support to a number of teams. This will involve diagnosing and resolving various technical issues for members of staff who are working remotely within the field. You will also be responsible for helping build, test and dispatch equipment for new and existing staff.
Key Skills and Experience
1. Experience in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving user requests/incidents.
2. Excellent communication skills with the ability to instruct and explain information simply to a non-technical audience.
3. Experience of working with a range of Microsoft 365 services.
4. Ability to work independently and prioritise workload.
5. An awareness of data security principles.
Day to Day Responsibilities
1. Diagnose technical issues affecting remote members of staff.
2. Provide technical guidance on all aspects of interviewing work.
3. Test new equipment.
4. Support, when necessary, with building, testing and dispatching equipment, as well as manage the returns process.
5. Support remote workers with various technical issues.
6. Monitor and respond to Service Desk calls logged by the field staff and Field Enquiry Line.
7. Diagnose faults, and research effective resolutions providing advice to quickly resolve.
8. Review and update instruction manuals to support the wider team with troubleshooting.
9. Collaborate with various stakeholders within surveys directorate and digital services.
