Our site in Harpenden is seeking a Warehouse Assistant What youll do: The Warehouse Assistant will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accurate and efficient fulfilment of customer orders. This includes managing stock, participating in stock counts, preparing shipments to customer, Global intercompany shipments to NAM and APAC, and supporting the overall supply chain operations for Exertherm Limited. This role formerly reports to the Site Financial controller but has daily interaction with the SCM order processing supervisor. Key Responsibilities: Process customer orders, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of items for dispatch. Perform quality checks to ensure products meet company standards before shipping. Pack, label, and prepare goods for domestic and international transportation. Receive, inspect, and record incoming shipments. Maintain an organized and up-to-date inventory, conducting regular stock counts and reporting discrepancies. Ensure all stock is stored safely and efficiently in accordance with company policies. Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks, ensuring compliance with safety protocols. (To be implemented. Training will be provided) Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse environment, adhering to health and safety standards. Coordinate with suppliers and couriers to streamline logistics and resolve delivery issues. Work closely with customer service and sales teams to address order-related queries and resolve issues. Support the warehouse manager in process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency. Skills: Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics role. Proficiency in inventory management systems and basic IT skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, ERP systems). Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Good communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders. Physical ability to handle goods safely and lift moderate weights. Desirable: Knowledge of energy components or the energy industry. Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one. Experience in global shipping and customs documentation.
