My client is an Independent Electrical Wholesaler in the Midlands. They are looking for an External Account Manager (Business Development Manager) to join their team in Coalville, to help drive the branch to the next level.
Job Description
This is a multi-faceted sales role, split between being in the branch and out on the road visiting customers, assessing their needs, quoting, setting pricing structures, and supplying the required materials.
Responsibilities include:
1. Growing current accounts and spotting opportunities while out on the road, as well as through lead generation and market research to open new accounts frequently.
2. Getting new customer accounts to spend consistently.
3. Liaising with all other members of the branch to provide the best customer service possible.
4. Working with the management team and senior sales staff to develop and implement the business's sales strategies to grow in the local area.
5. Staying informed on the latest products, innovations, and developments in the industry to enable business growth and profitability.
6. Targeting and growing small contractor businesses and end users like education/healthcare establishments, hospitality venues, leisure facilities, factories, distribution centres, local government, and social housing.
Minimum Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a proven sales background in Electrical Wholesaling.
The necessary skills needed include:
* Enthusiasm, drive & passion
* Punctuality, excellent time management & organisational skills
* High attention to detail
* Strong communication skills to build and maintain relationships with customers at all levels, key suppliers, and colleagues
* Ability to deal with both new & existing accounts, as well as non-account holders
* Ability to work well in a team with good instruction-following skills
* Ability to work under your own initiative & being target-driven
* Knowledge of sales strategies and working with targets while managing an area.
