Peter Symonds is a vibrant sixth form college in Winchester which has been rated by Ofsted as ‘outstanding’ in every respect. We have a large team of committed and talented staff who are at the heart of the success of the College.
Biology is one of the largest departments in the College, with fourteen teaching staff and four technicians delivering GCE Eduqas Biology and BTEC Human Biology as well as preparing students for Biology Olympiad and participating in other wider activities. Physical and electronic resources are extremely good, with this being reflected in very high levels of student achievement.
We have a part time (approximately 0.92 FTE) opportunity for someone to join us in April 2025 for a maternity contract. The successful applicant will have a degree in Biology or a closely allied subject, with an enthusiasm for their subject and the ability to share that with our students. We welcome applications from both newly qualified and experienced teachers.
