The Role (Overview)
As a leadership Director, you will develop and implement an innovative annual sales and marketing programme in line with the budget development plan, which will motivate internal and external sales staff to maximise sales growth. You will be aware of the entire commercial activities of the division and assist the Managing Director where necessary in the day-to-day operations of the company.
The Candidate
We are searching for a proven senior sales personality with an impressive record of accomplishment in B2B sales from within technology-based capital equipment products. We could imagine a candidate from a background in large machinery, plastic injection, laser cutting, measurement equipment, sensor technology or similar industry. The ideal candidate is hungry for new and business-relevant clients and will have the ability to open new doors and unlock profitable business avenues through both traditional and increasingly modern digital routes to markets. The role features regular travel to UK-based client sites and will on occasions take you to Germany and beyond for corporate undertakings.
You will be a natural, competent and fair leader of people with a level of technical knowledge that allows you to lead from the front. Often, good ideas sit within staff of different levels and functions. Your role is to encourage the speaking of these ideas and put in place initiatives to monitor their progress. As with any small close team, your role is to ease this leadership transition with fairness and support but you must also visualise and then present where you feel more investment is necessary in order to achieve your objectives as the UK Sales Director.
This opportunity represents an ideal platform for an ambitious strategic thinker who feels ready in their career to take on a role as Director. You must not however view this opportunity as in name only – it requires a totally hands-on approach in its delivery and a personality that can see the long game as the way to success.
