Senior Insurance Manager – Aon Insurance Managers, Guernsey
Aon Insurance Managers in Guernsey ‘AIMG’ is seeking an experienced (re)insurance professional to join its leadership team as a Senior Insurance Manager. The role would suit someone with a background in captive management, underwriting, broking or (re)insurance consulting but those with other relevant experience will always be considered.
This is a role that cuts across a broad selection of AIMG’s client base and business lines whilst providing an unrivalled opportunity to participate in the cutting edge of insurance innovation. Initially, the successful candidate will assume the Client Executive role for a portfolio of existing captive clients with responsibility for leading the service team to ensure that service excellence is delivered to the highest standards. There is also an opportunity to support in AIMG’s business development strategy, working with colleagues to onboard new clients ranging from captives and commercial (re)insurance carriers through to new humanitarian solutions.
This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Guernsey office, although due to the regulated nature of activities carried out the successful candidate is anticipated to be primarily resident in Guernsey.

What the day will look like
* Assumes responsibility for service excellence across a portfolio of captive clients, ensuring that all aspects of the annual cycle are completed in a timely manner and to a high standard.
* Advise clients on the optimum risk financing solutions and structures.
* Ensure that all client regulatory and legal issues are complied with.
* Lead, direct and motivate colleagues toward the accomplishment of goals and objectives.
* Identify development & training requirements for colleagues to enhance skills and achieve succession planning objectives.
* Apply strategic and operational planning agreed by AIMG’s Senior Leadership Team and Aon Captive & Insurance Managers ‘ACIM’ Head Office, to their own servicing team.
* Participate in determining AIMG’s long and short-term objectives in line with wider ACIM
* Assist in the formation of RfP responses, presentations, programme design and new business onboarding.
* Understand AIMG’s budget and their contribution to achieving those targets.
* Ensure consistency in the provision of services to AIMG clients.
* Ensure operational efficiency through the use of effective management systems & tools
* Assist in the promotion of captives, both to internal and external prospects.
* Support to attract, develop, and retain the necessary talent in order to achieve business objectives and provide high quality services to clients
* Completes or assists in completing any other projects or work as assigned by the Managing Director or Senior Leadership Team, delivering to any set timescales agreed
* Allocate time to provide insurance function support to colleagues including, identifying training needs, developing, and mentoring all insurance staff and giving guidance on high level insurance queries, technical insurance issues, complex wordings review, etc.
Skills and experience that will lead to success .
* ACII qualification / or equivalent (or working towards) – Essential.
* Have previous general insurance experience and a strong technical knowledge of the insurance and reinsurance industry – Essential.
* Proven experience in leading teams/line management
* Previous experience within the captive insurance industry is highly desirable.
* Some experience in staff supervision would be beneficial.
* Be focused on client service needs to achieve ‘client service excellence.’
