About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Demolition Site Supervisor to join our client’s dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing on-site operations on demolition projects, ensuring that all work is executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with legislative and company standards. You will play a key role in coordinating with various CDM dutyholders and managing a diverse team of demolition operatives and subcontract staff.
Responsibilities
* On-Site Management: Oversee day-to-day demolition operations in line with the employment contract and ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Team Leadership: Motivate and manage demolition operatives and subcontractors, ensuring they understand and follow safety protocols and company procedures.
* Technical Oversight: Interpret and mark up technical documentation such as drawings, asbestos surveys, and bills of quantities; ensure POW, risk assessments, and COSHH assessments reflect site conditions.
* Resource Coordination: Plan ahead to secure and optimize the use of materials, plant, and equipment, while maintaining accurate logs and site records.
* Communication: Represent our client on site, liaising with Demolition Contracts Managers, Project Managers, Operations Managers, and Quantity Surveyors to resolve issues and ensure project success.
Qualifications
- Minimum five years’ experience in the demolition industry.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of building structures, safe demolition procedures, and asbestos survey implications.
- Valid Driving Licence with essential certifications including HS&E Touchscreen test for Supervisors and a CCDO Supervisor card (or equivalent).
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to maintain electronic and hardcopy site records.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
