THE COMPANY: Our client is a full-service international investment bank, looking to recruit a Deputy Head of Compliance & Deputy MLRO. This role has responsibility to ensure the firm complies with all FCA regulatory requirements, relevant laws and regulation.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist HoC to manage the Compliance team actively to support the development of a positive Compliance culture within the Business.
2. Perform horizon scanning and support the effective implementation of new regulatory requirements that impact the business.
3. Identify, recommend and implement areas for improvement and business process developments where appropriate.
4. Responsibility for Control Effectiveness testing and submission of written reports / Management Information to the HoC.
5. Act as the Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer.
6. Horizon scanning of new regulatory developments and recommending changes required.
7. Supervise the Onboarding Team.
8. Oversee the Market Surveillance activity as and when required.
9. Ensure that the Training & Competency program is carried out as stipulated by the HoC.
10. Identify gaps in compliance and recommend adjustments to policies, procedures and controls.
11. Assist HoC with the BWRA and MARA processes.
12. Ensure HR procedures are correctly supervised and adhered to.
13. Liaise with Heads of Departments to maintain 2nd line defence.
14. Any other duties/special projects that may come up in the department.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1. Must have Wholesale Banking experience
2. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience within a Deputy or compliance manager role.
3. Previous experience in a SMF16 and 17 function preferred.
4. Strong working knowledge of financial regulation, securities laws, directives and expectation areas.
5. Full understanding of the FCA Handbook.
