A fantastic opportunity for an experienced, Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our busy production and site engineering department.
To enable us to continue meeting high industry demands and maintain the highest levels of quality and customer service expected, we are keen to hear from suitably skilled and experienced engineering professionals interested in joining our team.
The engineering team at Barfoots is pivotal to our success. Working closely with production to ensure minimum downtime, the team ensures that the production plant, services, and facilities are all maintained and improved through pre-planned and reactive maintenance. Candidates with either a mechanical or electrical bias will have proven experience working in a similar environment, attending to machinery breakdowns, fault diagnosis, and establishing root cause analysis in a busy, dynamic processing or FMCG environment. With strong communication and teamwork skills, candidates will work collaboratively within the engineering team, providing support and investigating means of improving plant productivity and efficiency. They will also identify and participate in continuous improvement projects to help increase plant efficiency, energy, and cost savings.
This is a day shift based role. 4 days on, 4 days off.

Key Responsibilities
* General mechanical/electrical engineering and routine maintenance tasks
* Attend to and rectify factory machinery breakdowns, utilizing best practices for both health & safety and hygiene
* Fault diagnosis and root cause analysis
* Ensure maximum equipment uptime and availability
* Follow and improve upon month-on-month PPM schedules
* Be involved in both electrical and mechanical reactive and proactive maintenance
* Maintain accurate records for all activity and spares used/requested
* Ensure equipment is maintained to a high standard
Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
* Qualified to degree level or equivalent qualification
* Capable of quickly identifying and efficiently resolving mechanical and/or electrical faults
* Effective communication skills
* Ability to prioritize workload and use own initiative
* Troubleshooting electrical control panels - an advantage
Desirable Skills/Experience:
* Capable of working on inverters, PLC systems
* Carry out effective RCAs
* Develop effective PPMs
* Experience of working within FMCG / Fresh food manufacturing
