Revenues Recovery Assistant Salary/Grade: £25,992 to £27,711 per annum / Grade 6 Hours/Days: 37 hours per week Permanent Location, NEDDC, District Council Offices, Mill Lane, Wingerworth, S42 6NG Closing Date: 26th January 2025 Interview Date: to be confirmed We are looking for a highly motivated individual that has excellent communication and organisational skills to work in our Revenues and Benefits Section which is a very busy, constantly changing, and challenging environment. The post holder will be responsible for assisting the Revenues Recovery Officer in the collection of Council Tax, Non Domestic Rates and Housing Benefit overpayments. The successful applicant will need to have a knowledge of Council Tax and Non Domestic Rates recovery procedures. The Council’s Revenues and Benefits Section is a very busy, constantly changing, and challenging environment that deals with over 48,000 Council Tax accounts, over 3,200 Business Rates accounts, just under 3,000 Housing Benefit claims and just under 7,000 Council Tax Reduction claims. The post holder will be responsible for assisting the Revenues Recovery Officer in the collection of Council Tax, Non Domestic Rates and Housing Benefit overpayments. This post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check at Basic level. To be successful you will need: A working knowledge and understanding of the recovery processes to recover Council Tax and Non-Domestic Rates arrears A good working knowledge of Revenues and Benefits Systems, preferably Capita. Experience of dealing with members of the public both face to face and over the telephone The ability to demonstrate strong customer focus and a commitment to service improvements. The ability to work efficiently and effectively, both as a member of a team and independently.
