Heavy Mechanical Fitter - Leicestershire - 12 month contract to possible perm
£26 per hour umbrella plus OT
Shift working - Monday to Friday Days
Opportunity for mechanical technicians to undertake heavy maintenance, repairs and servicing on heavy diesel locomotives.
Your New Organisation
You will have a fantastic opportunity to work for an independent rail services and engineering partner who have been proudly serving the rail industry for the last 12 years. Initially established as a leasing company, the business pivoted and adapted to support a growing customer base with end-to-end service solutions. Due to customer demands, the organisation took the opportunity to take over a new depot and are going from strength to strength, enabling them to offer more and more services to their loyal customers.
Your New Opportunity
1. Carry out heavy maintenance on a fleet of locomotives never before maintained or serviced in the East Midlands.
2. Become a valued member of the team helping to keep these locomotives serviced and in full working order.
3. Working to written vehicle maintenance instructions (VMI's) to complete examinations and inspections of the trains.
The Candidate
1. You will have previous experience of working on locomotives.
2. You will have experience of working on all heavy underframe components such as bogies, wheelsets, engines, gearboxes, and drive trains.
3. You will be a team player with the experience to work independently - a problem solver with an aptitude to think on your feet and carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks.
4. You must be able to pass a medical and drug and alcohol test.
