Do you have a background in early careers, recruitment or HR and want to use your experience to make a difference? Are you passionate about social mobility and giving young people the best start in their careers? If the answer is yes, we have the ideal role for you...
Visionpath is a purpose-first business on a mission to make early careers more equal.
We know that a young person's background still limits their career potential which is why we create early careers programmes with social mobility at their heart. Our programmes unlock skills, experience and apprenticeships for young people from diverse social backgrounds.
We do this with forward-thinking businesses that want to engage, develop and hire diverse future talent and move the dial on social mobility. They see the importance of diversity in their teams, nurturing new talent at grassroots level and creating equal access to their apprenticeships and entry-level jobs. We partner with businesses in sectors like banking, law, media and technology and have worked with thousands of students and school leavers.
Due to our continued growth, we're looking for an Early Careers Advisor to join our team and support our work with employers, schools and students.
About the role:
As Early Careers Advisor you'll work across our suite of programmes, supporting young people on their journey into their first careers with top employers.
Typically you'll be working with 16-19 year olds who are in the final years of their school careers and looking for apprenticeships through our programmes. Due to their background and circumstances, they may not have had any career advice, work experience or development ready for employment. So as Talent Advisor you'll need to keep this front of mind and be flexible, highly adaptable, supportive and focused on growing and developing the young talent you come into contact with.
This role is vital because of our pledge to deliver "an outcome at every stage". This means whatever point someone gets to on our Early Careers programmes they'll gain something in terms of experience, knowledge and skills, personalised advice, professional networks or a job. As Early Careers Advisor you'll play a pivotal role in delivering on this promise and ensuring we deliver the very best candidate experience.
Specifically, your duties will include:
* Managing applications to programmes and carrying out high-level reviews and filtering.
* Working with colleagues to intensively screen applications of interest by phone and video call.
* Communicating with applicants so they know the outcome of their application, get feedback and know the next steps.
* Working with successful applicants throughout the programme journey, keeping them engaged and helping them make the most of the opportunity.
* Supporting young people as they leave programmes, providing constructive and personalised feedback to help with their career search.
* Assisting colleagues with coordination and facilitation of outreach workshops, assessment days and other experiences in our programmes.
* Delivering virtual sessions to keep candidates engaged in programmes during the application and assessment phases.
* Coordinating the hiring and selection process for our clients, which includes arranging interviews, helping candidates prepare for interviews, collating and sharing feedback and assisting with next steps post-selection.
As part of a small but fast-growing business, you can expect there to be other duties that arise from time to time. You'll be a team player, happy to get stuck in to help us achieve our collective aims.
The role is offered on a full-time, permanent basis and based at our offices in Sawbridgeworth, Herts. We operate with hybrid working at Visionpath, so you will be expected to commute to our office three days per week, with two days remote working. From time to time you may also need to travel within the UK which may require an early start, later finish or overnight stay. Expenses and TOIL are provided.
The salary is £32,000-£35,000 per year depending on experience.
Safeguarding the young people we work with at Visionpath is paramount. For the successful candidate, we will require you to undergo an enhanced DBS (criminal record) check.
About you:
The ideal candidate will have a couple of years' experience in HR, talent, recruitment or resourcing. You will be someone who wants to take this experience in a new direction in a purpose-led business, with the motivation to give young people the best possible start to their careers.
You'll be passionate about our mission and purpose, care deeply about diversity and social mobility, and want to work in a small but growing business where you can make a positive impact on young people and employers alike.
We're also looking for someone that has:
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
* High levels of professionalism, while being friendly and approachable.
* Strong commercial awareness and experience working with corporate stakeholders.
* The ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload.
* The confidence to use initiative and bring new ideas and thinking.
* Worked in a fast-paced environment and been able to switch between projects without dropping the ball.
You will be someone with infectious enthusiasm and a positive, can-do attitude. You'll be collaborative and a great team player, but also happy to work independently at times.
In return, we offer you:
* The opportunity to do purposeful, high-impact work that makes a difference
* A supportive, friendly and collaborative working environment
* 25 days' holiday (plus bank holidays)
* An extra day off on your birthday
* Bright, modern riverside offices in Herts with excellent travel links
* Regular team socials (we're talking charity quiz champs here!)
* Perks and discounts with top brands
* Hybrid working options
