With operations across the globe and an ever-expanding customer base, this prestigious manufacturer is planning the next part of their recruitment push. Following their recent investment, they are looking for an Engineering Team Leader to lead their well-established engineering team. The company has multiple sites within the organization and offers opportunities for employees to train both internally and externally to become the best Engineer/Manager possible. Role & Responsibilities:
1. Perform minor stop and repeat breakdown analysis across all areas of the production plant specifically linked to top loss areas.
2. Develop plans and sustainable countermeasures to remove root causes of both minor stops, breakdowns, and component failures from process equipment.
3. Drive improvement solutions from start to completion.
4. Lead the technical element of preventive maintenance and support where required.
5. Communicate effectively with all members of the operations team including engineering, production, safety, and quality teams.
6. Input into engineering maintenance strategy to eradicate breakdowns.
7. Lead improvement activities to improve production efficiency and reduce cost, waste, and engineering inefficiencies, supporting operators and the CI team to complete kaizens as required.
8. Utilize lean and manufacturing FI tools and techniques.
9. Ensure improvements are sustainable, share knowledge with all team members, and update engineering standards and maintenance.
10. Understand principles and parameters of equipment, be able to describe and analyze loss phenomenon, and plan to eliminate these losses.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
1. Completed a recognized engineering apprenticeship and have applied their mechanical and electrical skills in their current (or recent) role.
2. Experience leading a team and making improvements across engineering/maintenance departments.
3. Background - very open as long as you have worked in an engineering function.
4. Ideally Mechanical and Electrical Multiskilled.
5. Qualified to ONC/HND and NVQ3 or equivalent.
6. Basic/Advanced PLC skills, broad knowledge, and experience of electro-mechanical equipment, maintenance, and principles.
