Are you bilingual in Welsh and English? Have you had the ability to utilise your skillset to its full potential? Are you looking to help teach children how to speak Welsh as an additional language? Would you like to be part of a scheme which has an aim to keep the Welsh language alive? We are currently working with the Bridgend County Borough Council (BCBC) to help provide support staff to assist with their campaign to create 1 million Welsh speakers by 2026. It really is a fantastic scheme to be part of as it is an opportunity which contributes to our generations which follow and keep the Welsh language alive. This would involve working in small groups with primary aged children around their usual timetable which have not had an introduction to Welsh in any capacity. The aim is to fast track their understanding of the language in both written and verbal communication so they are caught up to peers within the school. They will then integrate into the usual timetable and work alongside their peers, being educated through the medium of Welsh. We are currently looking for someone which satisfies the below: - Fluent in both Welsh and English - Available a minimum of 3 weekdays per week (days are flexible) - Available during the hours of 8:30 – 3:30 - Is able to commute to the Bridgend / Maesteg area Experience working with children is of course desirable, but is not essential. We are open to speaking with individuals from all backgrounds as long as the fundamentals are satisfied. We are ultimately looking for someone which is passionate for education and the Welsh language as a whole.
