Responsibilities
* Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in all assigned areas, including hallways, stairwells, offices, and common spaces.
* Clean and disinfect restrooms, ensuring supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper) are adequately stocked.
* Wipe down surfaces, including desks, countertops, windows, and mirrors.
* Empty trash and recycling bins, replacing liners as needed.
* Remove and dispose of waste according to facility guidelines.
* Monitor and report any maintenance issues such as leaks, broken equipment, or facility damage.
* Perform basic repair tasks such as replacing light bulbs and minor fixture repairs.
* Ensure cleaning equipment and tools are properly maintained and stored after use.
* Follow proper cleaning protocols to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
* Use appropriate cleaning products, equipment, and protective gear.
* Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, reporting any hazards to supervisors.
* Assist with deep cleaning tasks, such as carpet cleaning, floor waxing, and window washing.
* Support special event setup and breakdown, including moving furniture or equipment.
* Participate in seasonal cleaning tasks as required (e.g., snow removal from entrances).
Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED preferred.
* Prior experience in janitorial or custodial work is beneficial but not required.
* Ability to operate cleaning equipment, such as floor buffers and vacuums.
* Basic knowledge of cleaning supplies and safety practices.
* Good physical stamina and ability to lift/move objects up to 50 lbs.
* Attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
* Excellent communication skills to interact with staff, supervisors, and facility occupants.
* Ability to follow instructions and maintain a positive, professional attitude
