Clinical Seminar Leader, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Training
Location: 11 Orchard St, Bristol, BS1 5EH
Start date: September 26, 2024
Deadline for applications: July 12, 2024
Salary: £58 per seminar
The Severnside Institute for Psychotherapy requires a Clinical Seminar Leader for our BPC-accredited Psychodynamic Psychotherapy training during the first half of the 2024-25 academic year (ie from 26/9/ 2024 until 13/2/2025). The seminars will be held in person at 11 Orchard Street, Bristol, BS1 5EH, on Thursdays from 19:00 until 20:30, and it is anticipated that there will be 4-6 people in the group.
In a clinical seminar, trainees take it in turns to present a clinical case which forms the basis of the group discussion, bringing a detailed account of the interaction. While keeping the issues raised by the material in mind, the seminar leader may open up and explore relevant clinical points, and questions of technique and theory that arise from the presentation. The seminar leader will help the trainees to work with the central concepts of clinical practice, relating the clinical material to concepts being studied in the theoretical seminar, and/or may suggest the presentations focus on a particular theoretical or technical issue.
There will be support for the successful applicant from colleagues and the SIP Training Committee as they become established in the role.
The role is paid at £58 per seminar. Report writing and some other related activities may be claimed in addition.
